Thai Children Sponsorship
One of the many virtuous causes we donate towards regularly is the sponsorship of two brothers in Nakhon Pathom. Raised in the kuti from a young age, they have been immersed in the teachings and life of a lay Buddhist practitioner, as well as an ascetic yogi participating in sanghadāna, giving to homeless, preparing donations for monks and temples, as well as making offerings to local temples.
While they are not able to be raised by their parents, they have been taken in by a loving practitioner and supported by donations and the care of extended family and discerning members of the community. Read on to meet them and learn more about Peak & Perfect.

Meet the kids
Hello, my name is Peak. I am 11 years old.
I go to the Thammaraksa School where I am in the 5th grade. My favourite subjects currently are computer and ping pong. When I’m not in school, I like to draw, go to the temples, and play flight simulator. My favourite healthy meal is steak and salad.
Having books and medicine at the house is good because we can learn from them and we don't have to go elsewhere to get medicine. I also like to learn about medicine. The temple that is close that I like going to is Wat Inthornwihan and there I like to offer the robe for the large Ariya Metteyya Buddha statue.

When I grow up I want to be a fighter pilot. I am excited to learn more about futbol because I want to be skilled.

Hi, my name is Perfect. I am 7 years old.
I go to the Thammaraksa School where I am in the 1st grade. My favourite subjects currently are swimming and English. When I’m not in school, I like to eat, play futbol with my brother, and go shopping. My favourite meal is chicken stew.
Growing up in a house filled with books and medicine is great because we don't have to buy any from the store or the doctor.

We live very close to the temple that is close is the Buddha's Tooth Relic Shrine and there I like to circumambulate and chant.
When I grow up I want to be an FBI agent. I am excited to learn martial arts.

Peak and Perfect during their novice monkhood.
Recently, these two boys had the opportunity to take novice vows and stay in a temple where their father was observing monk’s vows. Taking novice vows as a child is a traditional way to cultivate merit and a celebrated opportunity for their spiritual life. Donations were made to the temple in honor of this virtuous occasion. We rejoice in the merit they have made!
Ongoing donations are made to support these children through your contributions to the Teachings campaign. A portion of donations made each month go to support their schooling, food, clothing & uniforms, healthcare and activities at the discretion of SD Yogi in his efforts to benefit other beings.
