Time & Tradition
Many times, when we read and cultivate inspiration from articles about the traditional Buddhist holy days, we might wonder - how do we integrate this information into our modern daily lives?
This pocket-sized calendar was created to be a convenient and useful tool for a lay practitioner's daily life. It is composed of significant dates, chanting, references to the different seasonal cycles and methods of calculating time for traditional medicine and Dhamma practitioners alike. Our intentions for creating this resource are to support the integration and observation of these important days, to encourage the tracking of the solar, lunar and seasonal cycles, and to provide opportunities to learn more about the tradition we observe.

This first edition pocket calendar is a project to represent a traditional calendar. Bringing together important dates in the year, such as the phases of the moon, festivals, holy days, dates of the passing of teachers as well as information relevant to Buddhism in Thailand, we created this book as a resource to support one’s practice.
Traditional calendars are both based on Solar and Lunar cycles, thus the New Year isn't the first numbered month. This calendar reflects August 2026 through Songkran in April 2027 and includes Thai and Pali methods for calculating time.
