Traditionally, the preparation for starting a meditation practice consists of the Three Fields of Merit: Dāna (Generosity), Sīla (Conduct), and Bhavanā (Mental Cultivation).
Before we begin cultivating those qualities, what is the foundation for someone aspiring to have a meditation practice?
The initial steps of developing oneself in preparation for concentration is dependent on the lineage of the practice one chooses to follow.
In this one-hour event, a seasoned practitioner of meditation, chanting and other Buddhist practices will discuss introductory considerations for those who wish to take action toward cultivating their mind.
This talk is applicable to all backgrounds and experience levels.
No prior experience necessary – all are welcome!
